Four Bean Crock Pot Chili

A pot of chili is basically a pot of comfort and protein! During these "unprecedented times" this has been a great source of food snuggles for me. For less than $2.50 a serving you can't beat it. Give it a shot and let me know how it turns out.

  1. Season beef with salt and pepper and brown in a pan. Drain the fat and put beef in the crock pot.

  2. Empty 8oz can of tomato sauce and the 2 cups of water into the crock pot. Stir everything together and mix in the big spice packet from the chili kit.

  3. Turn crockpot on low and cook for 2 hours. Make sure the lid is on.

  4. After 2 hours add all the beans (drain liquid first), add the cayenne pepper packet (to taste!) and the mesa flour packet.

  5. Stir well and replace lid. Cook on low for an additional 2-4 hours.

Notes- You can make this with ground turkey as well but I find the beef to be more flavorful. I like to serve with a box of corn bread or tortilla chips. This also makes excellent hot dog topping. Four Bean Chili is super hearty so most of the time I can get 10 servings out of it which drives the price down even more.
